Integrating
Technology into the Adult Education Classroom
The
Integrating Technology into the Adult Education Classroom
course, developed by Dr. Mary Gaston, is designed to assist full-time
and part-time adult educators in developing skills and knowledge to
effectively integrate instructional technology into the adult education
curriculum. The course will enable educators to enhance the learning
environment, maximize student learning, and facilitate student
assessment and evaluation.
Students are expected to have some experience with basic technology, but
will be given basic instruction in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the
Internet. Students will explore various issues related to the
integration of technology into the adult education classroom, and will
create lessons that integrate technology into the
curriculum.
Students will engage in meaningful dialogue about technology integration
in small groups as well as large group activities which relate to the
College of Charleston’s
conceptual framework of making the teaching and learning connection.
Students will be active participants in exploration and projects that
meet their individual professional development needs.
The goals and objectives are correlated to the College of
Charleston’s Teaching and Learning Standards to assist teachers in
developing skills and knowledge to effectively integrate curriculum in
order to enhance the learning environment, maximize student learning,
and facilitate student assessment and evaluation. Teachers
completing the course will meet the requirements for Technology
Proficiency, South Carolina Proviso 1.40. |
